ESE Ltd complete infrastructure work new state of the art Blood Centre in Barnsley

High voltage electrical contractor, Engineered Systems (Electrical) Ltd have completed the electrical infrastructure installation at a new state of the art Blood Centre in Barnsley. The new centre will consolidate the Leeds and Sheffield offices to serve hospitals throughout Yorkshire and the East Midlands. This centre has created a first class laboratory and training space to develop advanced cell therapies.

ESE Ltd carried out the supply installation testing and commissioning of a Schneider CE2-T7 SF6 circuit breaker and a new 800kVA tier 1 transformer with a close couple ACB Cabinet. The distribution equipment was installed by our experienced engineers who carried out all the cabling work from DNO and to the transformer.

It was then decided by the client that an extension was going to be built and a larger electrical supply was needed. ESE Ltd liaised with the DNO to confirm the site had enough capacity for the new supply. A New 1500kVA Tier 1 transformer was installed with a 2000amp ACB cabinet close coupled. Due to site logistics the transformer to be craned into position. The existing Transformer was removed from site in an environmentally friendly way.
