ESE Ltd to power new Amazon factory in Germany

ESE Ltd have recently completed a contract to supply three 24kV package substations for a new Amazon logistics centre in Magdeburg, Germany. The new Logistics centre will create up to 2,000 new jobs in the area and be used to ship products, including household items and toys.

The three identical package substations consisted of a Lucy Sabre VRN24 24kV SF6 Ring main unit and an ESE Ltd Tier 1 2500kVA oil cooled transformer. These were connected on a bespoke skid base using a small loop of 24kV cable.

Close coupled onto the LV side of the transformer ESE Ltd also manufactured and installed a 4000A LV cabinet.

All three substations were delivered August 2019; on time and within budget.
